A. Founded in 2009, Duofu Care & Services is the first private company to provide professional accessible transport services with no limitations on destination or purpose. Since its beginning, we have made up for the neglect of wheelchair accessible transport in Taiwan. It is our core belief that “no man is physically challenged, just environmentally challenged”. The elderly and disabled should not be restricted by their limited mobility. In addition to accessible transport, Duofu also provides support for a variety of recreational activities, such as access to a movie, visiting an art gallery, Dajia Mazu Pilgrimage Procession, and even trips around the island. Your wish is our command.

2. What services does Duofu provide?

A. In addition to accessible transport, Duofu promotes accessible tour services. The members of our travel planning team have visited many of the destinations and attraction spots so that they could make the best plans for the destinations that you want to experience. We take care of all the details so that you don’t have to worry about them. Duofu also provides unparalleled powered stair climber services for people with limited abilities that live in buildings without elevators.

3. What type of vehicle does Duofu use for its services? What kind of equipment do these vehicles have to make them accessible?

A. We use Volkswagen Crafters to provide our services. We have fitted them with wheelchair restraints to ensure wheelchair stability when moving and to ease disabled passenger’s discomfort from bumpy road so that they can better enjoy their trip.

4. What services are included in the crowdfunding package?

A. All you have to do is to book the return flight tickets. Duofu will organize your complete itinerary, including local accessible carrier arrangements, accommodations, dining and sightseeing. We can design a personalized vacation that specifically meets your interests. We further consult with you about seasonal festivals and the details of your health conditions to guarantee that you come away with fond and lasting memories.

5. Will all attraction spots and accommodations be accessible?

A. Yes. For those desired tourist spots that are less accessible, we also carry portable accessible equipment so that our travelers can still enjoy them.

6. I am participating in crowdfunding travel. When can I start my trip to Taiwan?

A. So that you can arrange your travel itinerary with as much flexibility as possible, a crowdfunding trip can be redeemed any time before September 2017. 7. What should I do if I’m not sure whether my health condition will be appropriate for Duofu’s accessible travel?

We recommend that you have a medical evaluation before coming to Taiwan. Furthermore, to guarantee you comfort while traveling, our reliable planning team has carefully evaluated all the destinations and routes so that you can enjoy Taiwan at your own pace.

8. How can I confirm my sponsorship?

A. Our travel itineraries vary based on seasonal carnivals and traditional festivals so that you can immerse yourself in Taiwan’s culture, history and charm. Moreover, Taiwan’s internationally recognized cuisine and snacks will have you talking about your trip for years to come.

11. Can we use Duofu’s accessible travel services if we have no wheelchair passengers in our party and have no requirements for accessible assistance?

A. Of course! Duofu also provides tour services for anyone who wants to explore the beauty of Taiwan. Furthermore, we offer personal specific accessible tours so that you can experience Taiwan’s accessible environment.

12. I’ve heard that the 101 building in Taiwan was the tallest in the world and has a special view that overlooks Taipei. Is it possible for wheelchair passengers to reach the top of Taipei 101?

A. Although Taipei 101 is no longer the world’s tallest building, it broke many records. For example, the observatory elevator was named the world’s fastest elevator by the Guinness Book of World Records, it has the largest New Year’s countdown clock, it has been certificated as a ranking Platinum LEED building by the US Green Building Council, etc. Everyone can enjoy the accessibility of Taipei 101 and the amazing feeling of being 449 m (1482 ft.) in the air!

13. Can we apply for a foreign language tour guide to accompany us?

A. Of course! Our goal is to show you around as you wish. However, the charge of a foreign language tour guide is not included in the sponsorship, so there will be an additional fee.

14. What happens if an emergency medical condition occurs while traveling?

A. We will fully prepare information about hospitals near the travel route, and we also highly recommend that you provide us with your medical history. If a life threatening situation arises, we can then give your medical history to the emergency personnel of the hospital. We can also reserve a private nursing assistant on your behalf for the duration of your trip.

15. Can we still participate in Duofu’s accessible travel services if we have a total of six people and one of us is a wheelchair passenger?

A. The standard crowdfunding itinerary was designed for four travelers. You will have to contact us with further details if you would like to change the number of travelers.

16. We rarely travel this far so we would like to explore more of Taiwan while we are here. Can we extend the length of our trip?

Yes, of course! We are committed to enriching your journey. Please be aware that we need to be notified of any change to your itinerary at least three workdays prior to dispatching vehicles. Any additional days will be charged an extra fee, with the best-price guarantee to satisfy your budget.

17. Can I rent accessible equipment in Taiwan?

Yes! Duofu has cooperated with a supplier of NGO accessible aids for years, and we recommend that you inform us of any of your access needs so that we can make appropriate reservations. Please note that there will be additional fees for both the price of renting the accessible equipment and any delivery charges.
